MacNeil Homes Takes Top Honor at MAME Awards
March 28, 2009
Charlotte, NC — MacNeil Homes picked up two gold awards at Saturday night’s 24th annual Major Achievements in Marketing Awards (MAME). The awards included the coveted best custom home over $750,000 for their model in the Highgate neighborhood located in Weddington. The home’s interior was a collaboration among company executives and architect, Doug Tino. Completing the design team is Studio C’s Chris Boush, whose classic Old World exteriors are known throughout the area.
According to sales and marketing vice president, Barbara Broadway, “we get lots of oohs and ahs over this house; it’s nice to know that our hard work on the front end has paid off.” Broadway also added: “People also regularly comment that it’s evident that a woman designed this home. Chief executive, Anita MacNeil is heavily involved in the design of all of our homes and this really gives us a leg up in a market where women drive most buying decisions.”
MacNeil’s family crest provided the inspiration for the company logo, the company’s second entry and gold award winner.
MacNeil Homes was formed in 2006 by local home building veteran, Anita MacNeil. She was joined shortly thereafter by Broadway, vice president of construction, Rick Lauer and most recently, Dan Kenny as vice president of operations. The company builds and remodels custom and semi-custom homes in the $500 and up price point. Besides Highgate, and scattered site locations, the company is currently building in Davidson’s Bailey Springs neighborhood, the Sanctuary and Chapel Cove.
