MacNeil Homes High-End Model Pays Off
March 29, 2008
WEDDINGTON, NC— While million dollar plus homes aren’t that uncommon to Union County’s prestigious Weddington area, a furnished model on the other hand is somewhat unusual for this price point. Since opening their 5,800+ square foot model home in Highgate, MacNeil Homes has been the “talk of the town” in the builder and realtor communities. Typically high-end homes are decorated for Home-Arama or charity events then are put on the market shortly thereafter. Reflecting on this, one customer remarked that he “couldn’t believe” that he “could come through the door without being charged any money.” “I guess it’s just a matter of trying to maximize the return on our marketing dollars,” says CEO, Anita MacNeil, who added “even though our management team has been responsible for building homes for other businesses for a number of years, this is a relatively new company and we need to create a brand image unique to MacNeil Homes. This high profile location at the entrance to Highgate provided us just the right opportunity.” The investment has paid off for MacNeil, who sold 6 homes in Highgate in the first quarter of 2007 after opening their model in late 2006. The company recently opened a model home in Davidson’s Bailey Springs community where homes start in the $450’s.
MacNeil, a former executive/owner with Saussy Burbank, says the company recently broke ground on their first home in Crescent’s newest lake front community, Chapel Cove and will also be building in the Sanctuary, Crescent’s successful neighboring community.
